Rafacol Tablet CR belongs to a group of medicines called steroids. It is used to treat moderate to severe ulcerative colitis. It helps relieve pain and inflammation caused by the condition.Rafacol Tablet CR can be taken with or without food. To get maximum benefit of the medicine, take it regularly and at the fixed time of each day. Do not discontinue taking the medication without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.Rafacol Tablet CR may cause few common side effects such as mood changes or stomach upset. Taking Rafacol Tablet CR can also make it harder for you to fight off infections. Tell your doctor if you have any signs of infection such as fever or sore throat.


Alcohol: It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Rafacol Tablet CR. Pregnancy: Rafacol Tablet CR may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. Breastfeeding: Rafacol Tablet CR is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. Driving: It is not known whether Rafacol Tablet CR alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Kidney: Rafacol Tablet CR is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Rafacol Tablet CR may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. Liver: Rafacol Tablet CR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rafacol Tablet CR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Rafacol Tablet CR is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease as the data available in these patients is very limited.

If Forget: If you miss a dose of Rafacol Tablet CR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rafacol Tablet CR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Rafacol Tablet CR is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that cause the inner surface of the large intestine (colon and rectum) to become ulcerated and inflamed (swollen) resulting in pain.
In Treatment of Ulcerative colitisUlcerative colitis is a disease of the large intestine (colon) and rectum in which the lining of the bowel becomes red and swollen. This can lead to bleeding, frequent diarrhea and abdominal pain. Rafacol Tablet CR relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You should drink plenty of fluids while taking on treatment with this medicine to make sure you stay hydrated.
