Eltocin -DS Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. It is effective in most infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin. It stops the bacteria from growing, which helps to resolve the symptoms and cures the infection.Eltocin -DS Tablet is taken orally, preferably either one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Alcohol: It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Eltocin -DS Tablet. Pregnancy: Eltocin -DS Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies. Breastfeeding: Eltocin -DS Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby. Driving: Eltocin -DS Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive. Kidney: Eltocin -DS Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Eltocin -DS Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as the use of this medicine may affect hearing in patients with severe kidney disease. Liver: Eltocin -DS Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Eltocin -DS Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of this medicine in liver disease patients can cause hearing loss.
