Varcolate Injection is an anticholinergic medication. It is used before or even during an operation to reduce secretions and it even reverses the unwanted effects of certain medicines used during surgery (muscle relaxants). It also helps to treat peptic ulcers when oral medication is not tolerated.Varcolate Injection is given by your doctor or nurse. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen.The most common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, urinary retention, blurred vision, photophobia, dilation of the pupil, cycloplegia, increased heart rate, increased eye pressure, tachycardia, bradycardia, palpitation, and reduced sweating. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, heart failure, and high blood pressure.


Alcohol: It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Varcolate Injection. Please consult your doctor. Pregnancy: Varcolate Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies. Breastfeeding: Varcolate Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.Long-term use of Varcolate Injection might reduce milk production. Driving: Varcolate Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.Varcolate Injection may affect vision and coordination. This may affect your driving ability. Kidney: Varcolate Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Varcolate Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Liver: There is limited information available on the use of Varcolate Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
