Tivtrace O Syrup contains two medicines: Racecadotril and ofloxacin. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that has anti-secretory effects. This means that this medicine reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine. As a result, the amount of fluid lost from the body in diarrhea reduces. On the other hand, Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and causing infection.
In Treatment of DiarrheaDiarrhea refers to the passing of loose, watery stools three or more times a day due to an infection in the gastrointestinal tract. Tivtrace O Syrup reduces the excessive secretion of water and electrolytes and helps replenish the lost fluids and salts. Your child needs to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to stay hydrated.Your child may start to feel better after getting treated for a few days to a week. However, do not extend the course or stop the medicine by yourself without consulting your child’s doctor. This may lead to the recurrence of symptoms.
